The Shipping Ministry has allowed firms running cargo terminals on the PPP mode to defer April, May and June months' revenue share, royalty and equipment hire charges without any interest. If such waived amount has already been received by the port, the same will be adjusted in future payments by the operator.

Against the drop in Export-Import (EXIM) cargo due to supply chain disruptions on account of the COVID-19, the 12 major ports of the country have been asked to defer the lease fee, waive rental and penalties.
