Between April and July, 80 sailings have been cancelled or will be, between the West Coast and Asia and 43 departures to Asia will be called off the East Coast. The cancelled sailings are a headache for shippers and there have been a lot of them during the COVID-19 crisis. Traditionally about 15 to 18% of all export bookings are cancelled.

CTOs would like to access more goods sheds of Indian Railways to send and receive containerised goods from a greater number of points. This will allow the movement of more containerised cargo through the railway network. Since only 258 out of the 1,232 goods sheds are container rail terminals, about a fifth of the goods shed across the country can be accessed to pick and drop cargo from containers.

3F Oil Palm Agrotech, an oil palm player, has launched 3F Akshaya, an Android mobile app for oil palm farmers. To begin with, about 20,000 oil palm farmers of Andhra Pradesh will get access to the app. They can monitor details of transactions including ledger balances and plot data.

Adani Logistics Services Private Limited, a unit of Adani Logistics Ltd, will shut its inland container depot (ICD) at Kanech in Punjab's Ludhiana district from June 25.
