Indian rice exports gained impetus this week after an extra port was opened in the country's biggest rice-handling facility, possibly easing congestion. Traders said they are purchasing more rice from farmers in expectation of rising demand from importers, pushing domestic prices of un-husked paddy to a 10-year high of between 6,200 and 7,000 dongs per kg.

JOC | Slower container circulation cripples global shipping system
19 February 2021
The slower flow of containers, instead of insufficient vessel limit, is the thing that has pushed the global container system to the edge of total collapse. The pandemic-driven slowdown in the normal circulatory movement of containers, combined with sharply higher volumes, has reduced overall system capacity, driving up rates and creating massive delays that are expected to continue for weeks to come.
