Fast-tracking the customs clearance of imported Covid-19 related items, the Central Board of Indirect-Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has asked importers to fill up a single-page online form giving a description of the goods and their end-use, as its officials at Mumbai air cargo today facilitated clearance of a consignment containing 10,053 infrared thermometers PCB and 2,031 pulse oximeter kits.

To fast-track the passage of imported oxygen and coronavirus-related medicines, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has asked such importers to fill up a single-page online form giving a description of the goods and their end-use, in case of difficulty faced by them in getting prompt customs clearance.

Para C.24 of the RBI Master Direction no.16/2015-16 dated January 1, 2016 (as amended), deals with write-off in cases of payment of claims by ECGC and private insurance companies regulated by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India. It clearly says that surrender of incentives, if any, in such cases will be as provided in the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP).
