GOVT OF INDIA | Directors Under Section III of The Major Port Trust Act, 1963 regarding landing of vessels containing Covid-19 related cargo

In view of the excessive requirement of Oxygen and related equipment in the nation, the Government has decided that all Major Ports, including the Kamarajar Port Limited, shall waive off all charges levied by Major Port Trusts. This direction is issued under Section III of The Major Port Trust Act, 1963, with the approval of the Honorable Minister of State for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways.

ET | Remdesivir exporters in a spot after shipments ban

Exporters are in trouble after the government’s order banning all exports of the drug remdesivir and its active pharmaceutical ingredients. Any duty-free import allowed under advance license has to be matched with exports, but exporters manufacturing remdesivir have been barred from exporting the drug following the government order.
