Import/Export Industry Notifications

Because of the ongoing surge of coronavirus cases across India, a control room has been set up to ensure the continuity and smooth conduct of international trade with India. The Control Room, which was developed by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), has monitored and resolved problems.

On Sunday, Bangladesh closed its border with India for two weeks because of the sharp increase in coronavirus cases in the neighboring country. The border closure came as the COVID-19 situation kept suspended flight operations between the two countries since April 14.

On April 23rd, a 72HR strike notice was issued by CUPE 375, Syndicat Des Débardeurs, advising of a planned industrial action at the Port of Montreal, to begin Monday, April 26th @ 0700HRS. As a result of this planned strike action, Hapag-Lloyd is currently reviewing potential contingency plans for vessels due to call Montreal.
