The Indian government, on 4th March 2021, announced an import quota of 4 lakh tonnes for urad for 2021-22 as local prices of whole urad (black matpe) have been rising. There are concerns about supplies from Myanmar, the main source of urad imports, due to a military coup in that country.

Andhra Pradesh is expected to get a bumper yield of mango this year. The horticulture department, with the support of the Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority, is chalking out plans to export more quantity of quality mangoes from the state to make Andhra Pradesh the leader of mango exports.
