DGFT | Notification regarding electronic filing of Non-Preferential Certificate of Origin through CDP for India’s exporters w.e.f. 15th April 2021

In continuation to the earlier Trade Notice 42/2020-2021 dated 19.02.2021, it is informed that the electronic platform for Certificate of Origin (CoO) is being expanded beyond Preferential Certificate of Origin to facilitate electronic application of Non-Preferential Certificates of Origin. Non-Preferential Certificate of Origin may also be submitted through e-CoO platform w.e.f. 15th April 2021.

FE | Maharashtra accounts for 50% of country’s sugar exports

Maharashtra has taken the lead in sugar exports for the 2020-21 season, accounting for close to 50% of the country’s total exports so far. According to industry sources, export contracts for 43 lakh tonnes of sugar have been signed. Of this, about 20 lakh tonne has been contracted from Maharashtra.

DGFT | Amendment in Appendix-2K providing for updation of IEC

In exercise of the powers conferred under para 1.03 and 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2015-2020, the Director-General of Foreign Trade inserts a new provision under S.No. 6 of Para 1 Appendix 2K. Annual updation of IEC during the period April to June as per Para 2.05 of HBP. No fee shall be charged on the application for updation b/w April to June of each year.

In exercise of powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade Act, 1992, in Para 1.01, the phrase ‘shall remain in force up to 31st March 2021, unless otherwise specified’ is substituted by ‘shall remain in force up to 30th September 2021 unless otherwise specified. In para 4.14, 5.01(a), and 6.01(d) (ii), the date 31.03.2021 is substituted by 30.09.2021.
